Prostitution & No Support from airbnb help lime

Prostitution & No Support from airbnb help lime

Hi there - I love airbnb and the income opportunities is gives to homeowners and cleaners!

Problem: Prostitution rings booking and NO support available from airbnb helpline.

I (and 3 other hosts in my town that I know) have run into serious issues with prostitutes, pimps, or traffickers booking our spaces in the last 6 months.

When we have called airbnb help line for help, they were not trained to help us at all.  It put my host, cleaner, and property in very dangerous situations.

How do we get airbnb to take the prostitution issue seriously for hosts? And to provide serious help?

Last month, I suggested to the last airbnb support supervisor that they make a hotline specifically for that issue with trained specialists to help. The supervisor replied with a smiley face emoji but nothing has been done. The level of support that I have received in the three separate situations that it has occurred and I called in for help was really bad.

What have other hosts done to get airbnb’s Help?  How do we get airbnb to treat this as a serious matter?

@Cross-Cultural0  Airbnb is not law enforcement. If you discover criminal activity on your property, you need to go directly to the police.

we discovered a similar situation. single woman guest and stream of men coming in/out. They did nothing to stop it, in fact they condone this type activity, as for the two days AFTER we reported the activity continued and all they did was suspend our listing while they investigate. So they did not stop the commercial, potentially illegal, activity on our premises, but punished us for reporting it by suspending our listing from searches and future bookings. WAY TO GO AIRBNB, thanks for the support system you have in place to help us hosts!

Hi @Cross-Cultural0

As @Anonymous say, this is not an Airbnb problem, but a criminal activity for law enforcement to handle.

I visited your listing and was surprised how low your private listings are—starting at $20/night to less than $50/night. Only one listing was $97/night. Not only do these extremely low rates not even cover the cost of cleaning the room, it attracts the type of clientele you do not want.

I recommend increasing your nightly rate, having a 2-3 night minimum stay, and charging a cleaning fee.
