Question

So when a guest send a request w a question.  In this case. We are to fare from where she want to be.   So I have a discutions  and tell her our location.  Then she apologized and say no thanks.  But I still have to decline or accept.

I did asked the guest to stop their reservation but can’t find a way to do it.  This is the second time. All ready

If i cancel the request.  I get penalty and can’t rent my room for that weekend.     So that’s not really fair.    Any tips ??

@John2027 tell the guest that if she doesn't cancel the booking request in an hour or an ammount of time that works for you, you will be forced to accept her request and than she will have to deal with canceling and loosing her service fee. I am sure she will find a way to cancel in minutes. It is not your fault that guests don't know the difference between an request and an inquiry.

@John2027  I do as @Ana1136  suggests, but I gave them up to 12 hours for the most part now I am at the 1 hour for response time reasons. I had one send me a nasty message because she didn't see it until I had approved it and she got charged the service fee's and had already been refunded them 3 times that year, so she could not get them back. I explained to her then she should be using the inquiry/contact host to ask questions rather than requests to book as hosts get dinged for declines. It was a 7 day booking so over $2,000+ with a 20% service fee. Not my fault.
