I referred a host and when I sent the referral code it said you can get up to $480 credit for referring but as I look now at the status (we are in the 15 business day waiting period for review) it says we will only get $150 for the referral. That’s barely worth it for me to bug my neighbors/friends about using our referral fee- we were going to split the credit with them and go on a trip but this is a joke. I know their first time hosting netting them over $3000 in a week so I’m confused about why airBnb is changing the credited amount? Also seems unfair.
@David400 Airbnb isn't changing it. It says UP TO $480 but not $480 specifically. Whenever some price is "up to" a specific amount, you almost never get that amount unfortunately. They say on their website that amounts may vary.
Im aware of the wording and what “up to” means- but it doesn’t say in the fine print that it is only $120 anywhere.
@David400 yes because it is not a fixed price, it fluctuates depenting on promotions, whether or not you are a Superhost and maybe other things Airbnb uses when deciding on the amount.
