Refund

If a refund request is made and accepted by the host, where does the refund amount go to? I have checked my bank account and credit card account but cannot find any record of a refund payment. The host says the refund was made and the case is now closed. Is there an area within my airbnb account where refund credits are made for later use or should the refund go directly to my bank account.
