I signed up with Airbnb months ago listed my space and blocked availability until I was completely ready to host. I have my first guests staying at my place now checking out tomorrow. My neighbors are complaining and have threatened to call the precinct captain because there are 6 car from out of state parked in front and on the side of my house. The reservation was for 3 and there are 6 cars outside at all times except for when they go out and all jump into one SUV. This morning my sister who is staying in the garden apartment downstairs told me there were about 20 people there last night and some sort of party with some of the men peeing outside and just being completely disruptive. My house is on a big corner lot so this activity is noticed by all my neighbors. Chicago has imposed high fees for hosts on top of regular inspections and neighbors are notified when there is an air bnb listing in their neighborhood. With people starting to complain my hosting license ( costing $500) can be revoked then instead of being financially helpful this will be a terrible fine and waste of money. Not to mention my intention was more for providing a safe clean higher end option at a reasonable rate for families traveling to Chicago since the expenses to come here can be very taxing. I am an avid traveler and as a guest taking 4 trips a year, I greatly value the importance of these spaces being available through the world. As a host now however I am very discouraged my the dishonesty and abuse of my current guests. Should I start a request for resolution since the guest isn't responding? Please advise.
