@Ann-Marie7, there is nothing easier (especially when one has gone through the booking process) for a guest than accepting a change. Honestly. It is a matter of clicking "accept".
Here are a couple of suggestions for dealing with a bit of obtuseness, whether intentional or not, if you are up to the time involved.
Be understanding that, yes, it is all sometimes difficult, and ask her to write to you with the exact wording Airbnb has sent to her. She can copy and paste it into a message in the system. (If she does not know how to copy and paste, you can carefully explain that.) Once you see the wording, you can say something like, "Okay, I see what you need to do. Looks like you just need to click 'accept'." (Or 'yes' or whatever positive word the message contains.) Ask her to try it.
If all else fails and you are down to the wire and she has still not figured it out, will it be possible for you to meet her at the door? You could show her how to click "accept" on her phone or your tablet on the doorstep before letting her in. She cannot enter with seven people when her reservation is for five. You are very sorry, but those are the rules.
Hope that helps a little, and you and she get it sorted. Will you let us know?
