I live in the US and had a trip booked with AirBnB beginning May 14. The trip was cancelled and I intend to rebook next year starting May 20. The previous trip was charged based on pay half initially and pay the other half later--apparently that is no longer available.
AirBnB allowed me to reuse the service fee, however the fee has to be reused by 12/31/20--which means I cannot actually reuse it for this trip.
I wonder if there is any support for changing the reuse of the service fee to require booking by 12/31/20 (not actual travel).
Any suggestions?
@Dan12458 The service fee voucher date refers to the date you rebook, not the date of your booking. So as long as you rebook it before Dec.31, it doesn't matter what the actual dates of the stay are.
I'd love that, but here is the exact text: "This one-time use and non-refundable coupon expires on 12/30/20 at 12:01AM UTC. It is valid for bookings you make on Airbnb with a check-in date on or before 12/30/20....
In addition, I attempted to use it when booking for next May and the site responded it is not valid for that time.
@Dan12458 Oh, that's terrible. I assumed it worked the same way as travel coupons work. Have you talked to Airbnb customer service about this?
Yes, I did. They confirmed the policy. I'm trying to drum up support here to change it to book by 12/31. Help if you can!
