Hi, a quick question....after a visit, is a guest sent just one initial prompt by Airbnb to write a review, or do they receive further reminders during the 14 days? Thank you.
Considering we as hosts receive multiple prompts, I would imagine guests receive multiple as well.
I don't know, either, @Richard158, because as both host and guest I answer the first one. But, like you, I have been wondering since that new prompt is showing up in the inbox: "Ask **** to write you a review." I think my asking will be redundant if they are getting reminders from AirBnB as well. It would amount to nagging. So I have not been hitting the button, but find that guests still review, even later in the 14-day period, so they must be getting something.
Is that why you were asking?
Yes, we had some guests who we know really loved the place and we are curious as to why they haven't reviewed yest. And, like you, we don't want to 'nag' them!
I am wondering what is the point of that ask-the-guest-to-review button, then, if they are being prompted automatically anyway, as @Marit-Anne0 confirms. Does it include a message box for pleading? "Please, please, please say something nice!"
Seems odd.
Me neither! Now I'm feeling doubly 'snubbed' 😉
@Richard158 and @Marit-Anne0, it just showed up for me in the last week, so it is very new. Canada doesn't seem to get the rollouts until after the rest of you, so I don't know why we were so special as to get this one... But it does seem redundant, unless the idea is that AirBnB will no longer prompt the guest; that it will be up to the host. Ugh, if so.
