Reviewing reviews!

Hi everyone,

 

We have just hosted our first guests on air bnb - they stayed in our home while we were away over Easter. They were great guests and looked after our house well while they stayed here. As it was our first foray into hosting we had the house thoroughly scrubbed before they stayed, left wine, easter eggs for the kids and loads of bits and bobs - tea, coffee, wood for the fire etc. When they gave our feedback they gave us 5 stars in all the individual categories and the written comments were glowing but in the overall review they only gave us 1 star. 😞 There is nothing other than that suggesting there was anything wrong with their stay - we have written to ask them if there was something they were unhappy about - or was it an error - but have had no reply. However, on the run up to booking they took quite a few days to reply to any emails we sent so this is not inconsistent with communication we have had with them.... Is there anything we can do? Look forward to any wisdom on this!!

Sounds very much like an error to me....usually the guest has to contact AirBnB to ask them to change the rating.

 

You could try AirBnB direct - Twitter - search for AirBnBhelp. Given this looks like a simple mistake, they may make the amend without waiting to hear from the guest.
