We get very good reviews.......and long may it continue.......but we have just received probably our best ever. Of course, because the guests were Italian and we are in the UK it has sunk right down. What a crazy scheme that most recent reviews are not at the top!

It's a rotating system to give the general picture of all your reviews. That's why it's important to reply to reviews, because you never know what review will be on top (unless the review is non sense and doesn't require your answer)
If you want to drive attention to the particular good review, you can screenshot it and insert it into your picture gallery. And you can do the same for your Facebook and Instagram accounts, it can be a good motivation to jump into Airbnb and book
If it's the one from Giovanna, it's the top review from my view. You don't see what would-be guests do.
I agree that they should appear in chronological order, no matter where in the world a guest is viewing them. It's misleading to guests if someone complains in a review that there was construction noise or the mattress was uncomfortable if the host bought a new mattress 3 years ago and the construction is long since finished. Not all guests, and probably few, bother to look at the tiny print that says when the guest stayed.
