Can I add a security deposit after I receive an inquiry but before an actual booking?

I think, @Ron139, that yes, because if you change the price at that time, the new one will be used in the reservation.

Yes @Ron139, an inquiry is no more than a glorified 'question' (with 2 added options Pre-Aprove and Decline) since it could be 'dismissed' by a simple 'Reply' (3rd option), though the 'Pushy Ones' (Airbnb) are trying to make it trickier than that.
