Security deposit

How do I add a security deposit to a pending reservation?  From what I have read.  This is not possible.  So do I decline, make the change, and then send them an invitation to make a request?

Yes...but before you do all that. make sure you understand that AirBnB's "security deposit" is not what most people consider to be a deposit. https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/140/how-does-airbnb-handle-security-deposits

Also consider why you are uncomfortable with the reservating request, so much so that you want to put in place a security deposit.

Soundsl like you have concerns about the request.

As @Scott80 points out, you need to understand what it is, and how you might claim against it - it is not easy

I'm having the same problem. I know it may not be easy to claim against this deposit but I feel it at least makes people aware that they have a duty to treat the host's house as they would their own.
