Security deposits

hi there ,sorry but i am new to all of this and was wondering if someone could give advice on security deposits e.g. how much,should there be one placed on listing ?. Thank you for your help and advice

As you offer an entire appartment, it is advised to set a security deposit.

I noticed there is already one (400 GBP) set in the listing. If everything is new and  spottless in the appartment, maybe raise it. The security deposit is not charged to the guests, it is "sitting in the background" in case of damage claim. Maybe also mention "no smoking" to houserules (if applicable), so there will no misunderstanding about that.
