How do we send a special offer now that the button is gone.

I also see that the Specail Offer link is missing. I used to be able to find it when I clicked on what the help article says, go to a message from a guest and click on Special Offer. I have done this many, many, times, and NOW the link is completely missing. Where did it go? How can we get it back?

My link for Special Offer is also missing...

Jeff in UK, that link takes me to the help page explaining where to find the special offer link in the rez message from potential guest. But for me that speciall offer link or button is missing alltogether, as Thomas in AZ is also experiencing.

This is a problem for me. Since there seems to be no way for people to add on their own pet fees in their rez request I have to send them special offers that include my pet fee.

Anyone out there have an answer yet?

It is gone for me as well. I would suggest that everyone send in feedback requesting it back. Here is the link to the feedback page; https://www.airbnb.ca/help/feedback

If Air BnB gets enough feedback about it they might do something sooner.

 

It is a handy button for me as well for adding extra services/amenities that the guest wants to take advantage of like linens.

@Patrick-and-Terri0, you cannot send a special offer to an already confirmed reservation (only an inquiry or request to book, I believe.) Could it be that your guests are instant booking so there is no special option feature? You have to click on Change/Cancel to update the price and then your guests will get a message to accept to decline the change.

I'm having the same issue with the missing special offer button for a guest who has only enquired. I'm not on Instant Book.

I've spoken to customer support and they've told me to ask the enquirer to cancel their request and I can THEN send them a special offer.

The alternative is for me to decline their request THEN send a special offer, but it would impact my acceptance rate.

I'm sure this has changed recently.

As I've learned, guests (even frequent guests) have to act like they are making a reservation, setting up dates, and then click "Contact Host" to send an inquiry to the host.  That message will include the dates of interest, which can be changed as needed. 

 

This is SO HARD!  And so inconvenient for frequent guests.  It shouldn't be so difficult to just create an offer to a guest.  Oh, well.

So as I read all your responses I realise I am not the only one baffled by the Special Offer Button. I used it 2 days ago for a booking and it all made sense and worked well. But today, nothing..........Why we use the special offer button is because we have 2 rooms. Another problem with booking system is that the first room is a set price so we get the full amount for the room if it is one per or two, but then it comes to the second room it is per person, so get half the amount as the first room unless it is 2 people in second room. Air BNB don't have a Solve for that one. And like now if the booking is 2 people and they want one room each, well it just becomes a problem. Thank you for letting me vent....................Denise
