I do not belive that ALL houses need this things.
Its a huge difference if you are living in a house with carpets, lots of furniture and burnable stuff, in the 5th floor of an apartment building or a hotel, or you live in a small 1 room Bungalow made from stone and tileflooring with just a bed which can burn. Since smoking is prohibited in most of the apartments like open fire, how a bed can catch fire and if it catches fire, would you not feel the pain? If you would not feel the pain, how you can hear the smoke alarm? 😕
Not ALL houses needing this things, like not ALL houses need a bathtube when they are having a shower
just my two cents. May be thats USAmerican standards but you cant compare these to all the world
