Something is fishy

Last night we sold our house so I had to cancel a reservation that was scheduled for 1 month away.  I did so.  Today I had a request by a young couple that I decline their reservations.  Then this evening I get a message of approved reservation of another couple for after the time frame of the sale of the house.  But I never recieved a request nor did I click on approve reservation, how can I do that with out even a request.  So I sent the guest a message letting him know what was going on and to please contact AirBnb.  Well now AIRBnB is charging me a $50 penalty for canceling a reservation I never approved.  Fishy.  Is AIRBnB hacking my account setting up reservations so I have to cancel and then charge me the fee.  Somethings not right here.  Question.... why in the world would I approve

Me again... why would I approve a reservation request when 1. I sold my house and 2. I had to cancel a different reservation set for one month away.   Really.  I think there are some crooked people working at AIRBnB.  Can someone help me, because I honestly don’t think AIRBnB will do the right thing and take the fee off.

@Donna226, there is nothing fishy going on. Your listing has Instant Book activated.

Any guest who meets the requirements can get a confirmed booking on your listing without needing your approval.

If you don't want this to happen, then turn off Instant Booking.

.... and block all dates when you can not host any more.

50$ - 100$ fee is a penalty for cancelation.
