Stolen passport from property

Hi, my passport has been stolen from my house and I wonder how to proceed. I've had had many guests since I noticed it wasn't there couple of weeks ago. The passport has a valid US Visa and this can couse serious problems. I wonder what to do...

I believe it is a police matter.  You must report the passport stolen to the relevant authorities.

Thank you. I just don't understand why would someone do that? It's cousing so much trouble.
