Super Host Status lost

We have had Super Host status for over a year and a half.  Earlier this year we  decided to renovate 2 rooms and had to cancel 2 guests that had booked long in advance. We gave them over 40 days notice of the cancellation. This is the first time we have had to cancel. Seems a little harsh to lose our status. Also when we lost our status it didn't give specifics on why we lost out status-I assume this is why.

However, I'm still not convinced by what you write, since I hosted less than 100 in the past year, 86 but

am still have the option to cancel 1 in the next 12 months.

@Alon1 so let's say you cancel now with 86 stays, that will be more than 1%. And the next assessment is in October, will that mean that if you don't get over 100 bookings by then you will loose your Superhost status. How can you be sure that you will get those bookings? 

@Alon1, If you have only hosted 86 trips within the last year and you cancel a reservation tomorrow, your cancellation rate will be more than 1%.

The rule only kicked in on July 1st 2019. So, I take it to mean one's record in the next 12 months till 30 June 2020.

@Alon1 that means you can't count your 86 stays since they all can't possibly be from July 1st forward.

I tend to agree! The past year is irrelevant.

 

What I believe is that my record (or anyone's record) will be evaluated from the time the rule was implemented July 1st 2019 

 

The only alternative is if the next assessment Oct 1st 2019 includes bookings from last October.2018. But this would imply that a cancellation would take place in the current Quarter

(because current SH takes into account record from July 1st 2018, so would incorporate Oct '18.)

What I wrote last maybe the answer:

 

Since the rule was implemented 1st July 2019 and relevant for 'the next assessment',

the following is what I posit is the most likely meaning of this new rule.

 

Next Assessment Oct 1st 2019 for records since 1st Oct 2018 - 30 Sept 2019

 

So we first check our records in the three quarters Oct 1st 2018 - 30 June 2019.

 

- My record for these three quarters is 80 bookings.

 

- Therefore, I would need another 20 bookings in the current Quarter to reach 100 total and so qualify for the 1% Cancellation.

 

- In the current quarter, I've had 11 bookings to date.

 

- So, I require another 9 to reach 100 for the period 1st Oct '18 - 30 Sept '19

 

However, If I was to cancel one before Sept 30th, then I would effectively need 10 more bookings.

I meant to write not '10 more bookings', but 1 more.

 

In any case, I don't think it's correct. Rather,  If I reached a 100 bookings by Sept 30th, and per chance had to make 1 cancellation, I would not lose SH based on this criteria.

@Alon1 yes target is less than 1% so if you hosted 86 trips you can’t  cancel 1 trip because it would be more than 1% of all your trips
