Surprisingly successful search term.

Although maybe not so surprising.

I just got 3* for location and incorrect address. Because we are rural, the address was set by airbnb.

38 sets of guests have found us with this address.

This latest guest was sent an alternative route because I knew there was a road closure. She was talked in by Mike on the 'phone.

I walked out to FETCH her from where she had ignored my directions, and SHOWED her where to go.

She said "Oh there was something about directions".

Hi @Mike-And-Helen0

It's so frustrating when this happens isnt' it?

Unfortunately there are *** everywhere  and very few people these days seem able to accept responsibility for their own shortcomings and stupidity. Everything is always someone else's fault.

I do know how irritating it is, but in the big picture, it's nothing really.

You've got great reviews ( can't see her comment in your reviews, perhaps she sent it as a private message).

Just put it behind you and think about your next guests who will hopefully be great.

With  directions  or any message I send the guest  - I always do a follow up message if they don't reply and sometimes I even ring them  - or get airbnb to ring them - to make sure they've got it.  This tends to make them take a bit more responsibility for themselves.

But some people are just incapable and .inept.

Forget about her. She's too stupid to bother with.

Hope you gave her accurate stars for communication in your review.

cheers

@Rowena29 thanks for your lovely upbeat reply.

You are right of course.

I gave her a good review because I hadn't realised she was so vacant until I saw her review.

She gave 5 stars and wrote nice comments but then 3* for accuracy "incorrect address".

Well @Mike-And-Helen0 ,

the really important thing is that she gave you 5 stars overall.

As irritating as it is to get dinged for location, it's far less important than being dinged for overall rating.

I have a beach house with pretty amazing panoramic views. It's a 5 min drive to the beach and 2 mins to a major supermarket and shopping complex.  Like any listing, it has it's issues, but I truly never thought I'd get marked down on location.  But early on a guest- who raved at length about the views, how private and serece the settings was,  and told me she had had a great time,  gave me 4 stars for location, because she "really wanted to stay in a place right on the beach" even though she KNEW my place WASN'T right on the beach.

Go figure.   Like you said. Moron.

Cheers
