Transfer a Reservation

Hi there, we've decided to take off Airbnb from a short period but we don't want to affect the reservation; we would like to help the guests to find accommodation instead of canceling it (transfer a booking). Is the first time that I use Airbnb community so I'm not pretty sure how it works, can anyone tell me if is there any section where I can get in touch with other hosts to see if they can take bookings so we can share their links with the guests?

Hello @Elizabeth0

No you can't do this it would be highly unfair to your guests who have chosen your location, listing and have chosen to stay with you based on your reviews. I am not terribly sympathic as you are a highly experienced host with three listings, so should have a much better understanding of how Airbnb works.

I don't quite understand what you mean by 'decided to take off Airbnb' ? If you don't want to host for a short period, you could have just blocked off the dates.

The simplest solution now, if you are unable to host,  would be to get a friend or family to act as a co-host so they can manage the listing for you and you can keep the bookings. You have co-hosts on your listings so this should be possible, unless you are looking to shut all three listings down temporarily?

If this is not possible you will need to tell Airbnb you need to  cancel the bookings and pay the  financial fines that come with doing this,  as well as having the cancellations show on your profile.

Even if you found a host willing to take your guests Airbnb would still cancel your booking.

I suggest you contact Airbnb as soon as possible to let them know you want to cancel so they can help guests find alternative places to stay.

Hi Helen, thanks for your prompt answer, just one reservation will be affected (on the middle of March), I know is not fair therefore I'd like to find a solution instead of canceling it. Airbnb suggested me to be in touch with the guest ("since we still plenty of time") and try to give some options for their accommodation... but I'll try to get in touch with Airbnb as you suggest, thanks again!
