I always have problems with the "trip length" feature and the possibility to put special requirements.
The feature is good on paper, but has a substatial flaw.
Example:
I set as requirement that "reservations from Aug 10 to Aug 25 should have a minimum stay of 7 days.
Then someone makes a reservation Starting Aug 9 to Aug 13th and the system accepts it! Why? Because August 9th is not incuded in the requirement.
In my mind the system should NOT accept the reservation from Aug 9th to Aug 13th because it is against the requirement that forces 7 days minimum from aug 10th to 25th.
I had often problems with this rule and all I could get from the nice customer representatives is that I am wrong and the rule works like that: I disagree. If I set a minimum requirement for a period of time, this should apply REGARDLESS when the reservation has started.
I hope you consider this feedback and that we start a discussion.
Thanks

This is a frequently appearing topic. Hosts think the special setting period also acts like a wall, which is not the case. When making a reservation the system checks only which rules apply on the check-in date. So in your example on 9 aug somebody can indeed book for other than 7 nights stay.
best regards,
Emiel
Emiel, Thank you for your answer.
Since that is a frequently appearing topic why nobody has addressed this issue yet? Thanks
I completely agree with this frustration. I have been bitten by this problem, too. Emiel1, we hosts are aware that it is not a wall, but it SHOULD be a wall. This wall is possible on other sites, and is far superior to NOT being a wall.
