Unable to leave a review after extended booking

My first guest was a great guest and landed up extending his stay from 1 week to 3.5 weeks which suited us perfectly.  When he was checking out he told us that he wasn't able to leave a review because the review period had expired.  I checked myself and found the same problem.  He is a seasoned and verified Airbnb member so doesn't really need our review but we really needed our first review and now we can't get it because of what seems like a bug in the airbnb system (not picking up on extensions).  Does anyone know of a way to get around this issue?

@Robyn22 You know, my last two guests didn't leave a review which is really unusual.  I contacted Airbnb about it and they sent new reminders.  Still no reviews.  I think there is something going on with Airbnb's system.  Would love to hear what other hosts have to say. 

And, yes, it's particularly painful for new hosts...not so much for veteran hosts who have lots of reviews.
