Unannounced drop by

Hello, I am a new host. We have three reservations coming up this summer and one of them is local.

Today, completely unannounced they dropped by our home to view the joys. There was no communication about this beforehand. My husband was home and let them in and they even went into our bedrooms.

I accoeted the reservation last week although she paid a $100 payment to reserve she has not paid for the reservation yet. What is your advice with how to proceed? I would not have been comfortable letting them in.

@Olivia324 as soon as she books she pays the full price, there is no such thing as paying to reserve. She can pay half of the price and the rest some time before the booking but you have no way of knowing that so I wonder where you got that info from. On the other hand, you should never let guests enter the property before their check in date. And why would they enter your bedrooms which I guess are not for them to use. I would call Airbnb and have them cancel the reservation, I wouldn't be comfortable to host them.

@Olivia324,It's usually NOT a good idea to rent to locals.   If you do, ask why they need to rent a space when they already live in the area.  As for them dropping by withhout any notice, totally unacceptable.  I agree with Ana and would call Airbnb to report this activity.  Very suspicious behaviour on the part of these  guests.
