Understanding Inquiries

Hello!

We we just put up our listing last week. I have three inquiries all over the same dates. My understanding is that I am dinged for declining? Is that correct? Do I just not choose any option on the other two and it will go away when (and if) the first decided to book for those days?

Hi @Jenna143  I hope you are well!

If you have 3 inquiries, and you decide to pre-approve and 1 guest books, then the other 2 will show as "not possible" and you won't need to do anything else such as declining them.

Always good to drop a short message to say someone else booked the dates so they know what happened.

Best wishes

Paul.

Also, @Jenna143 it's important to distinguish between booking requests and inquiries.

Booking requests MUST be either accepted or declined. A simple reply to an inquiry counts as a response and stops the clock ticking down (i.e. is counted in your stats). Even though there are preapprove/accept/decline buttons, you don't have to choose one. Confusing, I know, but if the guest just wants to ask a simple question, they have to pick calendar dates.

After your reply, the guest's inquiry will show on your dashboard. You can just dismiss it, if you've dealt with the question.
