AirBnB rented to 1 adult. She has multiple adults coming and going into the unit. My unit shows 4 max I've called and left voice mail but not response?
@Ben4128 stop calling guest. All forms of communication should be via airbnb’s messaging. So send a message stating your house rules and let guest know if they are not followed, you have no choice but to cancel or shorten the reservation. If you don’t hear from guest, then decide how you want to proceed. But never allow a guest to walk all over you.
Why are you calling her. Easy enough for the guest to ignore you.
Message her and confirm that in line (presumably) with your house rules and Airbnb's T&C only guests who have been registered on the booking should be at the listing and she should not have visitors to the house who aren't on the booking.
You need to get over there and see what's going on. Either kick out the unregistered guests OR if you are happy for an additional three guests to stay and feel they are bonafide guests. Make sure the lead guest adds them to the booking while you are there.
If she has multiple guests coming and going could be prostitution or drugs in which call the police and have Airbnb cancel the booking.
When you vetted the guest what did she say was her reason for coming to your area. What did she say when you asked her why she was booking accomodation that sleeps four when she is just one person
Personally I cant see the problem if the guest was willing to pay for a bigger unit, and bye the way you accepted the booking so you was happy at the time.
I have had guest book I remember one guy booked a 3 bedroom pool villa with us, I did ask him why and he said he likes the space, fair enough.
Many times a couple book our villas and I dont stop them having family or friends over for diner and a few drinks around the pool,
Any damage is on them who booked,
The only thing we are strict about is No Parties, other than that they are free to use the villa as they wish,
I'm surprised @Sudsrung0 you don't see any issue with multiple visitors not on the booking using Ben's listing.
As you know often one guest booking a property that accommodates many more is a sign that they are using it for a party or to have additional people stay who are not on the booking. Or it could be prostitution or drugs if multiple people are visiting (as the OP indicates).
And you are wrong if visitors to the listing who are not on the booking damage your place. Airbnb would not cover damage made by them. That would be done to you as the host to cover.
I didnt say that, I said those that booked meaning the guest are the ones liable, sorry English is not my first language
Live and learn....
Had what appeared to be 'street people' coming and going the first night, after she booked in during the middle of the night after saying she would be here a few hours after she booked in. I emailed her but no response, so I called and left an email on her voicemail and gave notice to comply or vacate. She got rid of the thugs, and came back to the apartment and things settled down. She had a dog that she didn't claim on check in, but it turned out to be a 'service dog' so no worries, as I'm pet friendly anyway. End of week, she checked out and I didn't have theft or vandalism so consider this learning curve a win!!
