Is any else concerned with the new privacy policy, effective May 19, 2016?
It is not clear to me what collected information is shared, or with whom. Will any of my information ever be sold? I would like the same rights as customers residing in the EU to see and challenge information provided by third parties. Transparency is key.

Common Questions
Here are a few common questions that you may have about this process.
What will happen on May 19, 2016?
Starting from May 19, 2016 existing customers will be asked to review and agree to the updated Terms of Service, Payments Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy. You will have to agree before you can continue to access your account. If you disagree with the new Terms, we’ll give you information on your options for completing existing reservations and canceling your account. If you have any questions or encounter any difficulties during this process, please e-mail terms@airbnb.com for assistance. Existing customers will not be able to agree earlier than May 19, 2016.
Does a host have unlimited access to property at any time property is being rented out? Hours? Limitations?
Hello people...I have received an email (supposedly from Airbnb) with the following language:
not able to accept new bookings until you accept our new Privacy Policy.
Is that legitimate or phishing spam?
Hi @Raphael27. I'm not a host, but the email you got looks rather weird.
The last privacy policy-related notice I got was way back in November 2016 pertaining to Airbnb operational changes for China.
Hi,
I have two concerns:
i) I don't like my details being sold, especially for a paid for service. I guess I must just find another partner if I don't like it.
ii) If information is shared with AirBNB China, will the Chinese state have access to the data?
Many thanks for any advice.
Nick
