Using different payment methods

Hello,

I wanted to rent an apartment from a company that says it rents it via Airbnb, because they are based in the UK and cannot come to the apartment in Amsterdam.

They say they have send the keys to Airbnb and Airbnb now has to wait for me to pay in advance two months of rent before I can look at the apartment. Afterwards I have to decide wether I want it or not. If I don't, they say I will get all of my money back.

The e-mail adress of Airbnb is airbnb@aironlinepayments.com and I want to know wether this is a valid way of paying and this isn't a scam.

Hello @Bryan99,

Welcome to the Community Center!

I agree with Jeff here. I was able to find a very helpful article in the Help Center about 'Fake email addresses'.

I hope you find this helpful.

Hello,

I'm in the same situation with a flat in Dublin.  Company is Bramhall Rentals, and the emails from airbnb are form airbnb@aironlinepayments.com

I'm rather dissapointed it's a scam, though at the same time was expecting it.
