Hi lovely Airbnb Comunity,
Just looking for support , advise and a little help
I have been a host for the past 3 years and like many of you , I am sure, proudly owned a Superhost Badge.
My badge was removed from me last December because as Airbnb put it, I did not received any reviews or comments in the 3 months period .The reason been was not because I had very unhappy guests or because my hosting abilities have sudenn gone out of the window.....It happend because in the winter months I keep my properties close and therefore I did not have any guests staying.
no guests staying= no reviews
no reviews= no stars
no stars= no badge.
I express my feeling clearly to the Airbnb team and among a " We are sorry to hear that" or " We can see that you were treated unfairly" or " we have had quite a lot of complaints about this" they told me that a good option would be to put the properties on Snooze.
I hung up feeling positivly rensured that I found the soloution to this problem.
I was just in the middle of doing that when I reilized that if I use the snooze option from Mid October to Mid March .... yes the properies will be on snooze and therefore I would be able to retain my badge but no one will be able to see them as the system will take it of from the search....
so , all those people out there who like to plan a holiday in advance and perhaps wanting to book something now for june or july ( like I am personally doing at the moment as I am planning a trip to California for the summer) will miss completly to view my property....
How infuriating is this!!!!!!
I can not believe that any of the aibnb marketing specialists have not seen this huge deterrent in the system
I am lost for words
Any words of winsdom?

Maddy,
I can empathize with your predicament. There is no way that I can see for you to both have closed properties and a Superhost badge year round. These two things are not possible unless you are actually hosting.
Please try to see it from my perspective, because, frankly, I don't think you should be awarded a Superhost badge: While you have closed properties not generating any reviews, positively or negatively, I'm over here busting a hump and going through the ups and downs of good and bad guests. I mean, you are doing 0 business and I am grinding through 30+ reservations while maintaining the required high-levels of service. This is what the Superhost badge is designed to identify - hosts that are going above and beyond all the time. If you aren't actually going to "host" you cannot possibly be a Superhost.
As for your property, you should just leave it as is, with the dates blocked off that you don't want to take in guests. Or perhaps, you may consider getting a local co-host to help you maintain a year-round property. Your listings look beautiful, I'm sure there are plenty of folks looking to reserve year round and yours would be one they would consider. Just a thought.
