@Deanne26

It's nonsense. You should report the sender to Airbnb by using the "flag" link in the message and/or profile.

Best regards,

Not much doubt that it is some sort of scam/spam some kind of "am" but how do I take care of it? Anyone else have this happen? Is there a certain place i can report it to? Is my acct compromised now? Any help would be appreciated.

Ty, i had not seen your reply when i wrote the last comment. Ty for your help and confirmation.

Deanne,

I too thought it was a scam and called Airbnb and they said it was their people.  Therefore I answered thru Airbnb and asked for an explanation.  Weird.\

@Deanne26  Scam trying to get you to click on something. Ignore and report. I can't imagine your account is compromised if this came in the form of an Inquiry message. If it was an email to your private email address, that would be concerning, i.e. how did they get that info.

Ty, I agree. You just never know. I mean it came in as a reservation request. The accept/decline options given. The link of course was blocked by airbnb thank goodness. I would not have used it but many don't know how dangerous that can be.

Its nice to have it confirmed by others. Im not just being over protective. Grammar was a bit of a give away lol

@Deanne26 seems like a business trying get work. Or a scam like the others said.

@Deanne26  If it came as a reservation request, I hope you either cntacted Airbnb to make sure they don't consider you not responding to it to count against you on response time or acceptance rate, or you approved it, otherwise you'll be dinged. And if you approve it, their credit card will instantly be charged and they'll have to cancel the reservation within 48 hours to get a refund. How infuruiating that someone would do this.

I did not accept and i reported it to airbnb. I heard back this morning and they have banned that acct. I also did not click on any links.

I appreciate everyones input. I think i like this community center portion of airbnb. Nice to hear what others think before taking any actions.

I appreciate this conversation. I just received similar "fake" inquiry, obviously a scam, fraud. The following message was in my personal email, text, and Airbnb Inbox, from the domain "@express.airbnb.com, which is NOT on Airbnb list of approved domains: "yo whats happenin I just checked out your Quiet 3 BR home access HWY 10/41, ATW Airport, EAA page on AirB-n-b... pretty good impression, nice home! I am 'bout to hand you tools to become an awesome host and improve and optimize your airbnb listing.check out the lіnk: host☉gigz☉me. Today at 1:42 AM"

I got one just like this on Sunday too, and again today... I wonder if Airbnb will take care of these messages..
