What do you do with guest misrepresenting the nr of guests

I am getting sick and tired of guest trying to cram the house to the gills with people.

The last straw being that per initial conversation they said they had 8 total (7 adults, 1 infant) they tried to get their dog in too but I refused. After I approved them their number suddenly ballooned to 12. !!!!!12 people in a tiny 3 bedroom!!!!!!!!!!!! I canceled their booking and it seems I was penalized by ABNB. They will not allow me to relist the dates!!!!!!!!!!!!! What the F!!!!!!!!!! They should penalize the guest for breaking the terms!!!!!!

One time before the pool guy informed me that there were people sleeping on the lanai in sleeping bags!!!!!!!!! What is a host to do???? Who will protect me from this????

And what's with people asking how many airmattresses can they fit in the house when it clearly states how many people the house sleeps?????

@Scott & Ingrid the number one rule repeated over and over and over again, is never cancel. Get AirBnB to do it for you and would have done so in this case. All you can do now it speak to them - get them to look at the message thread as evidence and they should reverse the penalties. Remember all the platform sees is a cancellation - it's not sophisticated enough to work through conversations about numbers of people, dogs etc..... Good Luck and it's a good (but hard) lesson to learn

Thanks Gerry and Rashid, lesson learned the hard way! I am so done with cheap a$$ customers lately and them sneaking in their grandmothers and their emotianal security bunnies!!!! Where are these people coming from that they want to stack themselves in a tiny house. Not much of a vacation with every square inch of the house taken up by a human being. I think they wanted to float their 3 infants in the pool on pool rafts instead of having them sleep in the house. I am seriously concidering putting up cameras at all entries to make sure I have some control and avoid people sleeping in the bahtub!

She clearly had something similar happen before because she has

no prior bookings

+ joined this January!!!!! Major red flag as is, now I understand why some hosts are super careful about customers with no reviews

was concerned about getting stuck with the cancellation fee. I was not even aware about any cancellation fee!!!!!!

Now I understand why some hosts are super careful about customers with no reviews.

What pile of poo poo did I just get myself in! Yet she will walk away from this ckean as a whistle!!!!

@Scott-and-Ingrid0My occupancy is regulated by the town based on square footage of the space. Posting this in the description of my property seems to be effective. Your comment about every square inch of the house taken up by human being is spot on! I'm always really happy when just two people take my space!!!
