What is a week?

This seems a really stupid question, but what is a week? Is it 7 nights or 7 days (that is 6 nights)? if my rate is $1000 a week and they want an extra day, do I divide the $1000 by 6 or by 7? Sorry, beginner's question...

@Martin943 It's less confusing to think of dates as nights, rather than days. So to answer your question, divided by 7.

All accommodation is per night, and airbnb do the sums for you if you or the guests are doing a booking alteration.
