Why is this year no one booking from us?

Last year from March through August we had lots of travelers booking with us, and this year nothing?

Isn't this a good year for traveling?

Yes , we have only couch, but I do make it comfortable for all travelers, as read on our listing.

I took a look at your listing, and $35 to sleep on your sofa seems quite reasonable, but then there is a $30 cleaning fee AND you have many rules that require the guest to do a lot of cleaning while they are there. I charge a $35 cleaning fee - but my guests have an entire 1 bedroom apartment to themselves, with a full kitchen and private bathroom. You have many "do not" rules which, for me, would meke me pass on staying with you. Also, being told not to shower every day is unappealing. I think it might be difficult to find travelers who are willing to pay to follow so many rules.

No offense, but your house rules sound very passive aggressive. Like banning daily showers and showering is not allowed unless the guest has received instructions first. Also, the thing about check-in time is subject to change if you have somewhere else to be. Seems like a guest might be stranded with no recourse because you had something else to do.

Even if the place were free, I would not stay there, your listing make it sound like you are doing the guest a huge favor by letting them stay, and I would be worried that if there are that many written rules AND virtually no privacy there are likely going to be a whole lot of additional expectations, and when I am on vacation, I am trying to relax and not have to worry about complying with a bunch of rules about when I come and go, what scent I choose to wear, etc.

I am sorry Scott, but even I do not take showers every day or I use the gym's shower.

California is in a drought, maybe you have not read that.

Also my husband has very bad allergies and you would be sharing the bathroom with him, and I can't wear any pefume or cologne because of either.

I am take care of my 90 year old mother like I stated and her needs do come first, and that is why it goes.

Everyone last year did not complain about the rules that we have, we are married couple and don't want people coming late night for the family room is right near our bedroom.

So I am sorry that you feel this way.

Apparently one should refresh one’s listing with new pictures and additional information to keep your hosting fresh in the system, remember new host are being added all the time and initially they get priority, then its very person for themselves.

The pictures of my place were taken by a professional photographer from the Airbn site and before when I did list my couch for rent; I did not have a professional photographer or my cellphone camera.

But I guess that is what the eye sees then, perhahps?
