For the past few weeks, the mobile Airbnb app has not been able to play Youtube video links. If anyone else has trouble with this can you let me know and please call customer service about it? The way it works is that the more people that call about an issue, the faster the technical team works on it. You can even ask guests to call about it.
What should happen (and has happened in the past) is the when the link is click on the Airbnb mobile app, it should open up the person's Youtube app or their default browser (for example Safari). What actually happens is that the link opens within the Airbnb app and cannot play.
This is very frustrating for guests who cannot open my check-in video instructions after a long flight and drive to the apartment. The Youtube videos work with Whatsapp, Kakao Talk, email, etc. but does not work with the Airbnb app.
The fix should be simple. It just needs to open on the Youtube app or browser and not the Airbnb app or allow the video to play within the app. Other messaging apps are able to play the Youtube videos without going to the Youtube app or browser.
