additional guests

I have just been a host for two months but have questions about additional guests.  Last weekend, the house was booked for 1 family of 4. They were gone to a tournament a lot but the night before they left, they had a campfire and there were at least 8 people there. I found out when they were leaving that 2 families had stayed together (8 total).  What should I have done?  They made more of a mess and used every single sheet of linen and towels, etc. around.  This weekend, another lady has booked for 6 people but is asking about a 7th and is willing to pay more and I will supply a cot. I said $25/night would be good (for two nights) but how do I add this to their bill ....do I ask for cash? Not sure the proper way but trying to book one more person in when the place is full and booked on the site does not work!

Advice on one or both of these situations please!!! thanks 🙂

See the following to set up an extra-person fee:

When someone wants to increase their guest count they should propose a change to their reservation guest count. When you accept it they will automatically be charged.

For guests who have additional people without notifying you, or exceed your maximum, you can either request payment through the resolution center or evict them.

Accepting payment outside of Airbnb is against their terms of service.
