Hi, can anyone help with this problem I have being...my very first booking today and airbnb charged my guest 4 nights instead of 5 how do I correct this problem please?
Regards Geraldine
If your guests booked 5 nights, they are charged correctly for 5 nights provided your price settings are correct. Your payout will be your asking price less airbnb charges.
Perhaps take a look at the community help guides in the help section under the discuss tab above.
Hi Marit Anne, thank you for your reply but the amount definitely does not add up. I took into consideration airbnb %, but definitely short.
When I enter 5 nights into your calendar, the service fee at my end equals 1 night approximately.
If you go to my reservations and click on message history, the breakdown will show to the left. If your reservation goes across a weekend, the nightly rate will show an average.
I can only check the vacant dates on your calendar, but your prices seem to fluctuate quite a bit. Do you happen to have smart pricing turned on ?
Hi Marit Anne, I did average it out but still falls short. Airbnb takes 3% plus the service fee correct? If that's the case, I'm short $129 per night ?
Thank you for taking time with me
Marit Anne, smart pricing is turned off, I have different prices due to summer peak season Christmas and NYE
The service fee varies a bit, so very hard to tell unless you provide a screenshot of the actual breakdown of your payout. The site calculate the price according to the prices set and it is the first time I have come across what you claim to have happened. Usually, the the settings or the pricing are incorrect.
Hi Marit Anne, how do you mean....the settings or pricing are incorrect? Also is it possible that airbnb takes 10 % because that is what it roughly adds up to, to the nearest dollar ?
Possibly, but impossible for a fellow host to tell without seeing the breakdown. You must go to the full desktop version of airbnb and find the breakdown as described above.
See the breakdown on your computer.
Go to your Airbnb profile, log in:

Hit "print confirmation" on the current booking on the right side - and see the breakdown.
This is how it looks
The fee differs depending on the chosen cancellation policy so remember that when you calculate.
Fees related to Accommodations
We charge hosts a service fee (including taxes, if applicable) every time a booking is completed. The amount of the host service fee is generally 3%, but may range between 3-5% depending on the cancellation policy selected by the Host. The host service fee is calculated from the booking subtotal (before fees and taxes) and is automatically deducted from the payout to the Host.
To see the host service fee amount charged for a particular booking:
You'll also be able to view the host service fee in the message thread with the guest under Payments.
