authorise future payment

Hi

I just got the following replyfrom a guest, who required acoomodation.

Please explain, what it means: 'authorise future payments..." 

This is very inconvenient as wer losing guests that way. 

this was the reply from the guest:  "I just went to pay for our stay but was requested by Airbnb to authorise future payments which I do not agree to so sorry I will not be able to confirm my booking."

@Marianne8 Guests pay the entirety of the cost of a reservation when a reservation is confirmed.  Was this particular reservation for more than 30 days?  If so, the guest pays in monthly installments.  See the Airbnb policy for long terms stays here:
