awaiting payment

my guest just made a reservation today for tomorrow check-in, but it says awaiting payment, so should I let them check-in tomorrow or not

Give Airbnb a call if it hasn’t cleared.

@Dee220 You should contact the guest immediately.  You can ask guest to contact Airbnb to sort it out. There must be an issue with the payment. The booking has not been confirmed yet.

Why is Airbnb allowing travellers to book but when you accept it, the dates become blocked for 24 hours while it is “Awaiting Payment”? Opportunities can be missed during that 24-hour  period that your calendar is blocked by someone else who end up not going through with the booking.
