blocking calendar

We have a HUGE problem in our availability calendar, which we would like to keep updated to offer Instant Booking.

We blocked the dates and then only two days later, the dates were coming up as available!!!! I did this with my husband, so we double checked that we had did it correctly. We are using Chrome.

The other thing that happens both on Chrome and Firefox is that when we select dates and click "Available" or "Blocked" nothing happens the first time, and we have to repeat the action for the dates to be blocked.

HELP!!! We have already had two double bookings as a result, which freezes those dates as I had to cancel the bookings!!!

Anyone else had this problem?

Are you making sure you click "Save Changes" after you have blocked the date?

There may be a glitch in unblocking dates if you are using Smart Pricing or selecting Price Tips for the entire month.  That has happened to a couple of people.

It's a well known 'feature' of the AirBnB platform that dates will randomly and automatically block and unblock by themselves - another reason not to use Instant Booking. You are not alone...we manually check our calendar everytime we get a booking request to ensure we had not blocked off those dates.

Ah, this is happening to me too. So you believe it only happens to people who allow instant booking?

I have started checking my calendar everyday to make sure that blocked dates haven't been unblocked.

I had to cancel someone's booking because I had blocked those days and they had become unblocked without my knowledge. Fortunately, the person booked about two months ahead.

Happening to us too, very annoying!

To be clear, instant booking doesn't cause this, it's just bad to have instant booking turned on when this happens as you can be locked in to a booking for dates you had already blocked out.

I believe it is smart pricing which causes this. We have dates blocked out that later get marked available again - sometimes in the middle of a long blockout range (we had some multi-week travel).

This is a very annoying (and daft) bug that AirBnB really should be fixing. It should also be a dead easy fix.
