cancellation

My single room 8 Jan to 01 July has just cancelled. I am devestated as I already made plans. Do I get a months refund? What do I need to do? Sheryl ***

@Sheryl-Deane0  I can see that this is your first listing and possibly your first booking.  Please go to the Help Center and see the information about long term cancellations.  You will get a refund for one month but all the dates will be unblocked.  That means you can book with other travelers.  Long term booking can be great for the host in that it takes care of a long time period but can be a problem if cancelled.

You might take advange of all the hosting information available to you to understand both this platform and the short term rental market.  Good luck!

Hi guys, welcome to the world of room booings. Think of it from your perspetive as travelllers - sometimes you book a year in advane and then your travel plans change. Or, you have a family or work situation which mean you can no loger take the trip. It may be annoying, but it is part and parcel of the AirBnB (and other hotel's) booking systems.

@Gerry-And-Rashid0  I definitely agree with you. I wonder how many hosts have never been a traveler using Air BNB or any other short term rental platforms.  I know I am much more understanding and sensitive to traveler concerns and questions (even the "stupid" questions) having been an Air BNB traveler myself.
