Good day fellow hosts! I am a superhost here in the Philippines. Today I have a guest who missed the flight. He didn't arrived in my unit. Due to this, he requested to have his reservation cancelled and want to move to another date. Who will do the cancellation process? Me or him? Does this affects my status as a superhost? My cancellation policy is flexible. Thank you for your future advices 🙂
@Maricris0, under no circumstances should you cancel, as there are penalties involved, one of which is that you will lose Superhost status. Inform the guest that he needs to cancel the reservation and then book a new one.
If you wish to refund the guest the AirBnB service fee for the cancellation, this can be done via the Resolutions Center.
You can usually change the reservation to other dates - however, not sure if you can do this if the reservation has already technically started. Go to the reservation and see if you can change the dates - you won't be penalised for this.
As others mentioned, the guest missed his flight, so he needs to talk to Airbnb to cancel his booking, whether you want to accept him for another date is up to you.
You kept the space available for him and now will loose out.
You might want to review your cancellation policy - mine is strict and it's had no impact on my bookings.
