I would like to see a 'checked in' area on the reservations.

There is no way to find out if a guest has checked into the Airbnb system, so I have no idea if I will be paid for their stay.

What if a guest claims he was not here?

Since we see the itinerary, can there be a prompt that states for them to 'check in'?

Unless the guests cancel their reservation, you will get paid for any confirmed booking you have regardless of staying or not.  

The only way you can find out would be to put some effort into communicating with your guests, like getting their estimated time of arrival, then contacting them when you assume they will have arrived and ready on-line with their airbnb app, prepared to receive your messages.

As this is an idea of something you would like to change on the platform to improve it, it's a great post to put in Host Voice, our board for sharing ideas with Airbnb. If it gets enough thumbs up, it will move to 'popular' and Airbnb will consider it.
