city tax

I live in Texas and airbnb pays taxes for me, or at least that’s my understanding. The city where the house is wants 7% city hotel/motel tax from me.  Is that what airbnb is collecting for me or do i need to pay the city as well?

@Todd82  You should be paying the taxes. AirBnB ONLY pays the State of Texas 6%.  How long have you been running on AirBnB? I would immediately pay January thru July 2018. Your going to get fined. Hopefully they will cut you some slack because of you thinking AirBnB was paying them all along. I would bring them in person and see about what to do about previous years. I can't find a date of when this tax started so it's  probably been in place a long time.

Go to Progress on your dashboard, then Earnings, scroll down the page to Transaction history and click on that. On the righthand side of the screen will be a green Gross Earnings click on that. Print out each month and file in the form from the link I attached below. If you have any issues filing out the form let me know. Attached the AirBnB monthly Gross Earning to each month and makes copies for yourself. Write a seperate check for each month.
