criteria for bad guest review

I've had pretty good luck for hosting for 5 months now, but the most recent couple left their bedclothes in uncleanable condition--covered in blood and other unpleasant substances, all wadded up beneath the bed. Bleach won't clean them, and the sheets will have to be thrown out. I may have to clean the carpet in that area as well. Do you think this is bad enough for a definite NO review? Would you want to be warned about these people before agreeing to host them?

yes I would - we put alot of care and consideration into our homes and we hope that guests are respectful of this. We are not a big, impersonal hoteliers! Do they have other reviews?

The only other review is positive--but reviews don't show the ratings for cleanliness, for example, only the comment (or is there a way to see this?). I had no reason to think these people were so careless/sloppy/disrespectful.

Please write an honest review. It really helps the rest of us.

Sure, I will. If I say that I don't recommend them, will prospective hosts see the details, or just a plain "no?" I've seen plenty of prospective guests with no review at all, but none with a bad review.

@Anita28 Please give them an honest and, at least somewhat descriptive, review. "Bllody and otherwise fouled sheets stuffed under the bed" says a LOT that other hosts need to know. Don't pull any punches. You already know those guests will never return, so why concede to their sensitivities?

At first I thought maybe they had an injury or something, but then it would have been fair from them to tell you about that! This way, it was just ugly. Please write an honest review.

Btw, when we review the guests, we also have to give them thumbs up or down (recommendation or no rec.). Where does this show??

Difinitely you need to warn hosts of such guests so that they will be blocked from further bookings.

We need to protect each other! Be honest, dont hold back! By the sounds of it you definitely wont have them return, so name them and thereby warn other hosts PLEASE!!! There can only be praise for hosts that take exception to poor behavious, dont be shy, we support you. Harry, Australia and Bali.

I also had a horrendous guest from Uppsala Sweden. She is a singer and was very dirty, loud after 11:30pm and tried to get out of payment. Her name is [name removed]. Just be warned that she does not like to pay. Ask me all about what she tried to do to get out of payment. She was officially denied by Airbnb.

Rather confused by your comment @Shannon75 as

1) it doesn't relate to the topic of this thread - always best to start your own rather than posting in the middle of someone elses's 🙂

2) we don't take payment from guests it goes through BNB - so how can she not pay you?

3) if a guest is being noisy and otherwise breaking your house rules, you should contact them via the messaging system to ask them to correct their behaviour. if they fail to do this, you can call BNB and ask them to cancel the booking.
