hello, i am a new host.  As soon as I accept the reservation, does the security deposit gets auto deducted from the guest?  How do I know the security deposit has been made?  When should I contact my guest to let them know the details and logistics of the key, exact address, etc?

I'd suggest diving into the Help Center (link below) and have a really good read through some of the useful topics around Hosting... to bring yourself up to speed.

To answer your question. Airbnb handle the security deposit, Airbnb handle all funds and pay you around 24 hours after the Guest arrives. When a booking is made by a Guest all of your additional contact details are provided as part of the confirmed Reservation.

Until you have a confirmed Reservation, do not share personal details (such as your specific address) with the Guest. They are kept private for your safety.

In additon to what Errika has said - as you get closer to the date of arrival - say a week to 10 days out, send an email saying looking forward to meeting them, reconfirming check in time and check out time, and providing any detailed location instructions. Etc.
