disagreement about a review.

Answered!

disagreement about a review.

I have been hosting with airbnb for the last 8 years and have always had a 4-5 star review and am a super host. This weekened I had a nasty client who did not even check in and left me a 1 star review. ( My first one ever) It is full of lies and airbnb is ok with it. I dont understand how it is ok for a client to lie, and I as a host am penalized for it.  Reviews are totally meaningless if they are not true.

Airbnb only checks if a review is meeting their policies..

They can not see what is a lie or not. You left a comment on the review, so the reader can decide about it.

Maybe accept things as they are and move on.

Best regards,

Emiel

@Anita461  Did they call Airbnb for cancellation before they left? Did they request for full refund?

If they did and did not get what they wanted, it could be a retaliatory review. You might try to find a different case manager and quote ToS 5.8 to the case manager.

Mike thay never asked fora refund or offically checked in. Collected the keys at 10 pm and then sent me a message at 1am that they would not be staying.

Their review (no matter how untrue) does not violate Airbnb content policy so Airbnb will not remove it.

It doesnt matter that it is untrue. Airbnb will not protect a long standing super host. I do not feel validated.

Thanks Emiel,

Hope that potential clients will realize that this is a one off bad review in 8 years and judge for themselves.

However I am not pleased that clients can lie and get away with it and Airbnb dont have your back as a long standing host.

In the future, consider shooting video of your stay to document the state of the place so nobody can make false claims afterwards. Make sure to include video (all in the same shot) of you stating the date and who is about to check in.
