doubt about the next reservation

Hi, I'm  Mara.

I'm writing because I'm not sure about the next reservation (10-18 february 2018 in my flat).

I don't have reviews about the new guests, they are new at Airbnb, I don'thave officially a latin name but only chinese (who unfortunatelly I can' t read) so, I started to have doubt also about the age of these 2 guys!

The  2 guys are studying in UK- Boarding School in Kent and I thought to send them the key because they are so close with -Royal Mail Guaranteed Parcel- but  after one week they say still don't have the key even if I have the recipt from the Royal mail (paper ones and electronic ones) where someone called Mr Smith signed for receiving the parcel exactly the day after at 927 am. The only problem is that inside the parcel there is my detailed address and I have 2 little kids and not less my husband is often away. So who have my key now?

Why in a Boarding school community is so hard to find out a parcel?

Can I have from you a confirmation about the identity of the reservation request?

The name traslated and game me in the airbnb conversation is **.

Its' just to understand the dilemma!

Or I will go to pick the parcel up personally:-)

thanks a lot for your help,

mara.

I'm sorry for this long mail but It's just beacause the Met Police only one week ago announced in my street, close to my building, burglary.

Better contact airbnb and have the booking cancelled on the grounds that you are uncomfortable with the guests, then change the locks.  Better safe than sorry.  In the future, never send keys in advance and if possible change your lock to one with a keypad and a changeable code.

Thank you so much. you are right, I thought to make it easy for their flexible arrival time and I wrong. have a good sunday!

Ahhh, this sounds like such a stressful and almost scary situation! I'm so sorry about this experience you're having with a guest! I agree with Marit 100%, contact AirBNB and cancel the booking, and change your locks as soon as possible. Don't ever give out keys in advance, and in my personal opinion, I've never been a huge fan of giving out keys to guests at all. One suggestion I would have, just as Merit mentioned as well, to help with managing guest check in and check out and the whole key situation, would be to get a good smart lock.

We just got this new lock a couple months back and absolutely love it! It syncs directly to my AirBNB calendar, sends guests emails with key code and instructions as soon as they book a stay, disables codes at time of check out (and accurately lol), and auto updates itself for me. I don't have to do a thing or have to worry about keys or anything myself, it's awesome.

Here's a link to check it out, I highly recommend it!
