our host wantsto move in tomorrow and has to pay today but error 500 keeps occurring.What do wedo?

Dont do anything - it may be a scam. Ask the guest to contact AirBnB to sort out payment. Under no circumstances agree to anything off the platform (like take cash etc). There is nothing you can do if the guest cannot pay.
