gifting stays

Hey there,

I would like to gift 2 nights at my suite and include it in a gift basket at an auction. I don't want to purchase a gift card yet I don't want the potential guest to have to jump through too many hoops to find us and redeem the nights. Airbnb doesn't seem to have a convenient way to do this so I'm putting it out there to the community to see what great ideas are generated. Grateful, one and all, for your input...

For the last two years I have participated in a silent auction, @Dawn150  I chose to specify an amount rather than specify nights because in my area there is a wide variation in the nightly rates due to several high demand dates.

If you provide an Air BNB gift card, is it possible for the guest to use it for any booking and not necessarily for your place?  If that is your intent, then a gift card can be used according to Air BNB rules.

I provide a letter to the charity participant with a link to my listing, a specific code identifying the offer and instructions for contacting me.

If you are giving a gift, why does it have to be through Airbnb? Couldn't you just make a nice card and say what it's for, and for them to contact you? Unless it is a review generating exercise, in which case it will have to be an Airbnb thing.
