hi
anyone know how i can delete a booking waiting for guest verification? its blocking the calendar dates and the reservation request has been cancelled and i subsequently declined so i could get the dates reflecting again.
thanks
marc
Same happened to me this morning. if you find out what's the reason, please share.
thanks!
It;s a really annoying policy. Even if you state only guests who are verified may book - AirBnB takes that to mean that guests going through verification can book (even though they are not verified). In the meantime your calendar is blocked for about 24 hours while they attempt to complete verification.
i had this problem tonight and airbnb couldn't help me; this is a serious issue that airbnb needs to deal with immediately
imagine a hacker booking a host's entire calendar and playing the verification card; that would mean that the host would not be able to receive any bookings until the verification process expires; this is unacceptable, especially considering the host never accepted the reservation in the first place!
It has been like this for years so it seems airbnb would want it to stay this way.
Marit, Airbnb keeps evolving and getting better as it tweaks its system. Just because that's the way it has been doesn't mean that's the way it has to be. I would suggest to you that if your listing ever gets sabotaged like this, you would change your mind pretty quickly.
It has happened to me more than once ! First time was more than a year ago and I spent a whole day trying to assist my potential guests. This time we succeeded in a three day booking combining our efforts. I have also several that have timed out - I suppose the potential guests gave up in the process.
There has also been many threads on the forum on the exact matter and reports from those who have contacted airbnb for an explanation.
On the grounds of the replies received from airbnb, it looks like they want it to stay this way.
