host failed to respond

Hi there, can someone tell me if there is an issue with bookings in NYC?

We live in Scotland, UK and we are reading reports that the government in the US has banned airbnb lettings.  Is this correct as our Host failed to respond to our request for a booking for next year (2018).

We look forward to hearing from anyone with a similar problem.

For "Entire Apartment" listings, NYC has a multi-dwelling law where buildings 3 families or more are illegal for transient rentals, only one and two family buildings do not violate this law, "Private rooms" are exempt.
